Google Adsense - Generating Revenue For Your Website
If you have a good level of traffic to your site, then you could be generating a very good revenue from Google Adsense. Of course, Google are the kings of providing relevant content on the web and their Adsense system is providing website owners with a wonderful revenue tool. All you have to do is place some code on your site, which will enable you to show ads from relevant companies.
When anyone clicks on these ads, you get paid! It is a simple solution for a lot of publishers and some actually make enough money from it that they’ll never have to sell exclusive advertising on their sites at all.
The system is very simple – just place the code, choose the size, format and color scheme and you are away. One thing to remember - the most successful Adsense format is one that mingles in with the color scheme of your site. More and more people are becoming ‘banner blind’ and it is a fact that animations are not bringing in significant clicks any more. So, use simple ads with colors that match your site. So where do you place the Adsense ads? Well, the right hand side of the page next to good content is the best place.
You can also place horizontal ads at the top of the page and add images or pictures to them. This can increase your click rate but will also take up a bit more space. Remember, you don’t really want to place ads on pages where you are actually trying to sell your own products and services.
The Adsense system should only be used on pages that are content rich and that have been optimized well for the search engines. This will make sure that all of the ads on the page will be relevant to the content.
How much will I be paid? This depends on the industry you are in and how much people are paying on a CPC (cost per click) basis for the ads. Of course, Google take their cut, but you should still get a fair income. For example, a Thyroid related site will only pay around 20 cents or 10p per click, where as a site specializing in cosmetic surgery could get $3 per click easily. A lot depends on what kind of industry you are in and how competitive the bidding is.
We have a great new subscription service called ARC which is designed for webmasters and website owners - why not take a look at it on this site
